The Middle Child
Ipoh as a the neglected city that was once a first child during it's glory decades and its progression to a middle child as the town loses its appeal. Envisioning Ipoh as the the third child, the favourite.

Returning Ipoh's Lustre

Lacklustre
Ipoh's loss of history starts off with the absence on tin and tin mining machines. With that, the lustre the city once produced is dismissed along with the town's spiri.

/ Massing based on the River and Streets /
Restoring Lustre
Massing of the project inspired by the shape of Kinta River, the start of Ipoh's infamous history as a city. Spatial inspired by the process of tin mining which is represented by the recycling of scrap metal.

Lustre Returns
An urban room that is a producer, collector and connector. Producing new lustre for Ipoh as it takes its place as Ipoh's Last Tin Mining Machine.
