This module was rather enjoyable and eye opening as we were exposed to various cities and their sustainable methods or their lack thereof, hence we were given a chance to brainstorm innovative solutions that can be applied in real time. I also learned a lot about the concept of cities and what future city concepts would be like if all cities were to implement and practice sustainable living.
The idea of urbanity and livability of cities is an important concept for us to learn as future architects as to be considerate towards the tangible and intangible components of a city and its people. Hence this module has taught me to design with empathy and sustainably.

KARACHI VS CHICAGO
Reflection :
This assignment was interesting and captivating as we were tasked to explore two cities with similar physical attributes but differ in terms of level of development. My group focused on Karachi, Pakistan and Chicago, USA, two cities we were unfamiliar with and therefore, found a lot of joy in learning about the cities and brainstorming ways to improve Karachi with Chicago as a role model.
Based on the two cities, I have developed a deeper understanding on the importance of sustainable practices in a city's lifestyle in order to reach a high quality of life like the city of Chicago that is edging closer to a net-zero development.
assignment 2
cAPITAL
Reflection :
Based on the phase 3 sustainable proposals we did in assignment 1, we were tasked to bring forward those proposals to further develop those ideas to be implemented in a city for the year 2050. My case study was one Beijing, China as I wanted to explore developed cities and their capability to reach higher levels of sustainability.
Hence, my vision for Beijing was a livable city concept that has net zero energy, is car free, has forest city concept and is waste free in order to overcome Beijing's environmental issues that is detrimental to the health of its' citizens.
Based on the developed concept, we were tasked to create an idea of our visualization of the city in the future. This assignment was fun and motivating as I thoroughly enjoyed the process of developing ideas and I aspire to one day be a part of a project that implements the said concepts.

DISCIPLINE SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE

LIFELONG LEARNING

CITIZENSHIP & GLOBAL pERSPECTIVES
With the combination of online learning, I have been able to self-educate and self-research based on the materials provided by my lecturers to complete the assigned works with ease.
The concept of sustainability in cities is a lifelong knowledge I should bring forward in my future practice as an architect, designing cities that are self sustaining and positively impacts the globe.
By understanding the detrimental effects of the built environment, I have a sense of responsibility towards nature and its elements by taking in consideration my carbon footprint and daily practices.
